Drawings for the Food Connection

On Sunday, Pastor Larry Carroll at First UMC - Maryville was talking about our food drive as part of "Open House" month. I asked my kids, Katie and Preston (both 9), to color some pics that might inspire people to give. As soon as I told them I would put them on the website, their eyes lit up! Katie and Preston both worked at the Food Connection a few weeks ago and they both loved it. I hope they continue to love to serve others. I hope you enjoy the drawings!

Postal Worker's Food Drive - WOW!!!

A rainy day! What a rainy day! The skies were dark and the first few reports did not look good. As the day progressed the Community Food Connection was blessed, really blessed! The Postal Workers and the more than 130 volunteers following them picking up food collected more than 49000 pounds of food! WOW!! The store is full! The shelves are full! Much sorting remains to be done! Many will be fed, many will be blessed! Blount County stepped up once again and gave more than anyone expected!

Times are tough. The clients at the CFC continue to increase. Even so, with such tremendous community support the board of the CFC moves forth in faith and continues to "Feed the Hungry in Blount County"

It is with deep appreciation and wonder that we say thanks to the Postal Worker's, the volunteers and of course this gracious community for their trust and support.
